Dr Benoit graduated from the National Veterinary School of Lyon (France) with a major in fundamental and clinical veterinary studies. He completed a residency programme in radiation oncology at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, North Carolina State University (USA) and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology - radiation oncology.
His goal is to take part in the development of modern veterinary radiation oncology (RT) in Europe. Dr Benoit was leading the RT service at VRCC, UK for more than five years, and was also the primary radiotherapy consultant for the Oncology Service of the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals (Royal Veterinary College) of London. Dr Benoit is currently working at the specialist Oncovet centre in France, where he is leading a new state of the art radiotherapy department with external beam (megavoltage and orthovoltage therapy) and brachytherapy equipment for small and large animals.
Dr Benoit became a radiotherapy consultant for the Animal Hospital Postojna, Slovenia in 2013. He is consulting and planning treatments remotely and stays in very close contact with the AHP team throughout the year. Dr Benoit also regularly visits us to make sure that our standard of care and procedures are always optimised for the best possible safety and efficacy of our radiotherapy treatments.
